wanting to create a new identity after being in the industry for two years, a main goal of mine was to keep all elements fun, youthful, and modern in this suite. the combination of the modified serif olive village and sans-serif mr. eaves creates a quirky, yet clean modern logo. in addition to that, the contrast of a lowercase headline and all caps subheading is approachable and friendly, rather than formal in nature. when considering a pattern to pair with this logo, I wanted to focus on the "youthful" aspect of my personality, and how could I translate that accordingly. the idea of deconstructing my logo came to mind; rearranging the letters makes it look scattered at first glance, but looking closer makes the viewer realize my name is still readable, almost like how we notice constellations in the night sky on closer examination.
as a lover of the moon and stars, I knew I wanted a celestial element in my logo. not only does the moon serve as a period at the end of my name in multiple formats, it also hugs the ear (the curly bit at the end of the "r") in a logomark style when needed. finally, the chosen color palette of blues and a pop of yellow highlights the main colors we see in the sky at any point: a yellow sun or moon, bright blue skies during the day, and a deep, rich blue sky throughout the night.
