created as a first project in corporate ID during college, the goal of this assignment was to take an existing museum and update its branding. the burlesque hall of fame, located in las vegas, celebrates the sensuality, femininity, and history surrounding the art of burlesque. included in the museum's exhibits are costumes worn by famous dancers, iconic props, and a full wall timeline of how the art of burlesque has developed throughout the decades.
the geometric shapes used in the logo not only represents the iconic headpiece we associate with burlesque today, but also the time when it first became popular: the roaring 20's. women during this time became interested in the art as a way to take ownership of their bodies in a time where it was deemed "controversial." the color red is bright and eye catching, like a dancer is when performing on stage, while simultaneously asserting the sense of dominance, passion, and power each dancer possesses.
