created as a partnership between the beaver county chamber of commerce and underground beaver (now known as underground events,) the hometown scavenger hunt is a way explore the city of beaver and beaver falls while finding different small businesses along the way in a safe, socially distanced fashion. done by driving, participants are given a map with multiple clues where they would go to a specific location and get a prize; prizes could range from a gift certificate to a curated bag of candy and more. this event became so popular that it was later brought back for the fall season, dawning an alternate color palette.
the overall idea for this branding is a fun and friendly feeling, with an emphasis on a visual representation of a scavenger hunt. the vintage VW van paired with the hand drawn sans-serif and dotted line gives a fresh, modern, and fun look that participants of all ages could enjoy. the contrast between the summer and fall color palettes give each season a distinct look; being paired with coordinating materials (map, flyer, and social media graphics) allows for the event to be easily translated between seasons and years to come.
